Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal to sign talented youngster Farid Alfa-Ruprecht from Manchester City, in a deal worth €5 million (£4m/$6m).

WHAT HAPPENED?
The 19-year-old will return to his homeland, having spent the last three years in City's academy and reserve team. He never made a first-team appearance for the club.

However it seems the top brass at City do expect the youngster to go on to bigger and brighter things. Fabrizio Romano reports a 40% sell-on clause is part of the deal.

Alfa-Ruprecht joined the Sky Blues in 2022 from his hometown club HSV. The highly rated winger has represented Germany at youth level, most recently appearing for Die Mannschaft's under-18s outfit.

WHAT NEXT FOR ALFA-RUPRECHT?
The youngster will be chomping at the bit to experience first-team football for Die Werkself. Leverkusen have yet to announce a marquee signing in replacing Florian Wirtz, giving the youngster an opportunity to earn minutes in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
